Belgrave's Bieman one of 12 to win 4-H agriculture scholarships

Belgrave’s Emily Bieman is one of 12 youth leaders who has been awarded a 2022 TD 4-H Agriculture Scholarship through 4-H Canada.
The scholarships total $30,000 for the year, which have been provided by TD Bank Group. Each of the 12 4-H members will receive $2,500 towards their post-secondary education in agriculture, agricultural science or agricultural business this fall.
“TD is proud to support 4-H Canada in advancing its mission to develop future leaders in agriculture,” said Alex Morley, TD senior vice-president of agriculture services and business banking. “We wish this year’s scholarship recipients success as they pursue a career in an industry we are all reliant upon.”
In a press release from 4-H Canada, it said the organization is committed to promoting positive youth development and providing youth with tools and guidance to lay the foundation for a life-long love of learning in the field of agriculture.
“More than ever, food security is a critical issue in our country and around the world, and we are proud to congratulate these 2022 scholarship recipients as they pursue a post-secondary education in the vital field of agriculture,” said Shannon Benner, chief executive officer of 4-H Canada. “We are proud to partner with TD in supporting our youth. Congratulations to this year’s deserving recipients, we wish them all the best in their educational and career pursuits.”
Bieman, of Belgrave, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph.
The remaining 11 winners are: Ryan Chesterman of Edgerton, Alberta; Lauryn Craswell of Rustico, Prince Edward Island; Brooke-Lynn Finnerty of Sturgeon County, Alberta; Shannon Fraser of Berwick, Nova Scotia; Amie Loder of Corner Brook, Newfoundland; Cassidy Porteous of Winchester, Ontario; Emily Sebastian of Montmartre, Saskatchewan; Kara Sickle of St. George, Ontario; Annalise Steadman of Victoria, British Columbia; Ashlynn Trefenanko of St. Paul, Alberta and Ashlyn Whetter of Brandon, Manitoba.
