Blyth Brussels U13 Crusaders claim Young Canada Week crown

The Blyth-Brussels U13 Rep Crusaders claimed victory in the Goderich Young Canada Week U13 Rep Tournament over the weekend, marking an undefeated five-game run in the event.
The team started out with a 1-1 tie with South Bruce on the morning of Friday, March 11, which would prove to be the only game in which the squad didn’t post a victory.
Later that day, the team bested the BCH Ice Dogs 4-2.
On Saturday, March 12, the team only had one game, taking on TCDMHA and posting a 5-3 win.
On Sunday, the Crusaders posted a 2-1 victory over Lambton Shores in the semi-finals, followed by a 2-1 victory over Dresden in the finals. Lambton Shores captured the consolation final with a 2-1 victory over South Bruce
Paris would claim victory in the Local League U13 division over TCDMHA with a 5-1 win, while host team Goderich captured the Local League Consolidation final with a 4-3 win over BCH.
Earlier this week the Blyth-Brussels U15 Rep Crusaders took to the ice in the same tournament with three games scheduled between Monday and Tuesday including a 9 a.m. match against the Listowel Cyclones on Monday, a 5 p.m. game against Arran Elderslie, also on Monday, and a 3:30 p.m. match against South Muskoka on Tuesday. Scores were not available as of press time.
The U18 Local League Crusaders are set to take to the ice on Thursday in Young Canada Week with games at 9 a.m. against Mitchell in Goderich and 5 p.m. against Clinton in Clinton. The squad then faces off against Lambton Shores on Friday at 3:15 p.m in Goderich.
