Brussels Curling Club cancels season's remaining draws
The Brussels Curling Club held a meeting via telephone with the executive members last week, convened by President Doug Bremner. The discussion centred around whether to start curling in January.
Curling was cancelled for the fall due to low numbers from concern over COVID-19. There was enough interest in curling in January if the COVID-19 numbers were going down. Unfortunately, the numbers for the virus have not been going down and the difficult decision to cancel curling for January/March was made.
The Brussels Curling Club has over 50 years of history and hundreds of area residents have curled at some point in their lives with the Club. A sport for any age, there have been young folks age 12 up to mature folks who participated until they were into their 80s. The club hopes all will keep well and safe and come to curl again next November with the Brussels Curling Club.
