Brussels Lion Greg Ducharme awarded Melvin Jones Fellowship

Brussels Lions Club member Greg Ducharme, right, was presented with the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award at a recent meeting of the club. Named for the club founder, the award is the highest form of recognition that can be bestowed on a Lions Club member. It embodies the humanitarian ideas that are consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. Ron Clarkson, left, also a Melvin Jones Fellow, presented Ducharme with the award.

 

Ducharme was also presented with a 40-year membership chevron at the same meeting. Ducharme has been a valued member of the club since joining four decades earlier. During his time with the club, he has chaired many committees and spearheaded a variety of fundraising initiatives. He has thrice been the club’s president and has served as the club’s secretary for 17 years.  (Photo submitted)
