Brussels Lions Club donated $50,000 to BMGCC renovation
The Lions Club of Brussels has made a $50,000 donation to support the major renovations of the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre (BMGCC).
In celebration of the club’s 75th anniversary, the Lions Club of Brussels wanted to make a major splash in the community. They’ve operated in Brussels for 75 years and have spent this time working to improve the community of Brussels and surrounding area. Zoellyn Onn, President of the Club, said “supporting the BMGCC renovation was an easy choice for our club, when we reflect back on the past, the community centre has been a major part of our club’s history, so it was really an easy decision. We want the community centre to be around for our next 75 years and onward.”
Inspiring Our Future Major Gifts Chair, Michelle Blake accepted the donation, saying “the Lions Club have always been such great supporters of our community so this was no surprise, we thank them for their generosity and wish them well on their next 75 years.” The Inspiring Our Future team is grateful to the Brussels Lions Club and all the local businesses that have pledged donations to the project.
The planned renovations to the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre will bring the facility up to modern standards, provide something for people of all ages and interests, and revitalize the facility to be a hub for recreation the community can take pride in.
Any donations made to the Inspiring Our Future campaign will benefit the expansion of the dressing rooms, creation of an unobstructed heated viewing area, new entrance and foyer, roof replacement and several other modernizations. Anyone interested in learning more about the project is encouraged to contact Campaign Chair Brian TenPas at 519-492-0214, Campaign Co-ordinator Roxane Nicholson at roxane@jamienicholson.ca, or any member of the campaign team.
