Five Huron Heat teams heading to OWHA Championships later this month

As the 2022/2023 hockey season winds down, several Huron Heat teams will find themselves in some late-season action as the calendar flips from March to April.
Beginning today - March 31 - the U9 HL Black and White teams will be in St. Marys for the Western Ontario Girls’ Hockey League (WOGHL) Championship. The White team will begin with March 31 games against the St. Marys Rock and the Bluewater Hawks, while the Black team will play the Lucan Irish that day.
The next day, April 1, the U9 HL Black team will play St. Thomas and the South Huron Sabres, while the White team will play the North Middlesex Junior Stars.
Also that day, the U13 C Heat will be on the road for a playoff game with the North Middlesex Junior Stars, the U15 C Heat will have a playoff game in Komoka against the Woodstock Wildcats and the U11 B team will play the London Devilettes in Hensall before playing them again in an exhibition game the next day in London.
On April 6, the U13 C Heat will take on the Upper Maitland Mustangs in an exhibition game and then, the next day, the U13 B Heat will head east for the Brampton Canadettes Easter Tournament, beginning with games that day against the Lucan Irish and the Mississauga Hurricanes, followed by a game with the Georgina Golden Hawks the next day on April 8.
On April 10, the U13 C Heat will have an exhibition game with the South Huron Sabres on the road, followed by the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) Provincials, which will see the U9 B, U11 B, U11 C, U13 C and U18 BB Heat teams head to the Greater Toronto Area for some year-end tournament play.
Looking back at the week that was, the U18 BB Heat tied their playoff game with the Oakville Hornets on March 26 by a score of 1-1. Also that day, the U13 B Heat played an exhibition game with the Ilderton Jets in Goderich, while the U9 B Heat had an exhibition game with the North Middlesex Junior Stars on the road.
The U18 BB Heat tied their playoff game with the Ancaster Avalanche in Clinton by a score of 1-1, while the U11 C Heat lost their playoff game with the Woodstock Wildcats on the road by a score of 4-0.
The U9 HL White team beat the South Huron Sabres on the road that day by a score of 4-1 and the U9 HL Black team beat the Lucan Irish on the road by a score of 5-0. Also that day, the U15 BB Heat lost an exhibition game with the Twin Centre Hericanes in Seaforth by a score of 3-2 and the U13 C Heat lost their exhibition game with the Woodstock Wildcats in Seaforth by a score of 1-0.
On March 24, the U13 B Heat won their exhibition game with the Lucknow/Wingham 86ers in Seaforth by a score of 4-1 and on March 21, the U18 C Heat lost their playoff game in Clinton with the St. Thomas Panthers by a score of 3-2 and the U15 C Heat won their playoff game with the Ilderton Jets by a score of 1-0 in Seaforth.
On March 27, the U15 BB Heat were on the road for a game against the Twin Centre Hericanes, but a score was unavailable at press time.
