HASAR relays Huron County infant to London for emergency surgery
Several Huron Area Search and Rescue (HASAR) volunteers put on their superhero capes over the holidays as the area was battered by relentless snowfall and high winds, closing roads and stranding many in place for several days. The organization put its new SHERP vehicle to use, transferring an infant to Exeter for a transfer to London for emergency surgery thanks to pilots Jamie Mitchell and John Groves. The group also helped with another patient transfer to Kincardine, another call in Ripley and rescuing a stranded driver who had been stuck in a vehicle with no heat for over 12 hours. The SHERP can be seen above traversing through the blizzard. (Courtesy photo)
