U15 Blyth Brussels Rep Crusaders defeat Hanover in OMHA playoff

The U15 Rep Blyth Brussels Crusaders are continuing their playoff run, which hasn’t seen them lose since March 6, one of just two losses (the other was an overtime loss to the Walkerton Capitals on Feb. 21) during the entire postseason.
The Crusaders tied with the Hanover Falcons by a score of 2-2 in Hanover on March 19, which came after a 5-1 win over the Falcons in Brussels on March 17.
The teams clashed again this week, in Brussels on March 21, and played to a draw, which gave the Crusaders the series victory.
The team was also in action last week in Goderich as part of Young Canada Week. The team won its first game against the Wingham Ironmen by a score of 4-2, followed by a 4-2 loss to the Hanover Falcons and a 3-2 win over the Kincardine Kinucks. The Crusaders would beat the Listowel Cyclones by a score of 5-0, setting up a rematch with the Kinucks that the locals would lose by a score of 3-1.
The U18 Rep team lost its first game of a playoff series with the TCDMHA Rebels, on the road on March 19, by a score of 6-4.
They played again on March 21 in Brussels, March 22 on the road and March 23 back in Brussels again, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
The U18 Local League Crusaders lost their March 17 playoff game to the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels by a score of 7-3. They were due to play the Arthur Vipers, also in Brussels, on March 19, but that game was cancelled.
The U13 Local League team has a home-and-home series with the Owen Sound Junior Attack Red team scheduled for March 25 in Brussels and March 26 in Owen Sound. The Crusaders won their playoff game on the road against the Walkerton Capitals on March 19 by a score of 10-2, but lost their March 16 playoff game against the Minto Mad Dogs by a score of 6-1, just a day after beating the Mid-Huron Huskies on the road by a score of 7-0.
The U11 Rep team won its playoff game in Brussels on March 14 against the Mid-Huron Huskies by a score of 7-4, while the U11 Local League Burgundy team lost its playoff game against the Mid-Huron Huskies on March 13 by a score of 4-2.
On March 19, the U8 Black team played the Thunder in Zurich, but a score was not kept for that game. On March 18, the U8 Black and Burgundy teams played two Huron-Bruce teams in Ripley, but scores were not kept for those games.
On March 21, the U9 team played the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
This weekend, the U9 team will head to Tara, Ontario to take part in the Arran-Elderslie Tournament.
