U18 C Huron Heat loses OWHA playdown to Mitchell

The playoffs continued for a number of Huron Heat teams over the weekend as the 2022/2023 season draws to a close.
On Sunday, March 12, the U13 C Heat lost their playoff game to the B.A.D. Blazers in Clinton by a score of 2-0, while the U11 B Heat lost their playoff game to the Jets in Ilderton by a score of 4-2.
The U11 HL Heat, however, won their playoff game with the B.A.D. Blazers on the road by a score of 1-0 and the U18 C Heat won their playdown over the Lucknow/Wingham 86ers in Clinton by a score of 4-3.
Also that night, the Senior team took on Milverton in Hensall, but a score was unavailable at press time.
On Saturday, March 11, the U11 C Heat won their playoff game with the Wallaceburg Lakers on the road by a score of 2-0 and the U18 BB Heat won their playoff game with the London Devilettes in Clinton by a score of 2-0.
The U11 B Heat lost their playoff game in Seaforth against the Ilderton Jets by a score of 3-0 and the U18 C Heat were on the road for a playoff game with the South Huron Sabres, but lost by a score of 4-1.
Over the weekend, the U15 C Heat took part in the Toronto Leaside March Break Madness tournament. On Friday, March 10, they lost their first game to the Buffalo Bison by a score of 8-0 and then again to the Leaside Wildcats by a score of 1-0. They played another Toronto Leaside team later in the tournament, but a score was unavailable at press time. That night, the U13 B Heat hosted a playdown with the St. Marys Rock in Seaforth, but a score was unavailable at press time.
On Thursday, March 9, the U13 B Heat tied their playdown with the St. Marys Rock 1-1 in Blyth. The U11 B Heat beat the Jets in Ilderton for their playoff game by a score of 4-0. The U11 C Heat won their Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) playdown in Blyth over the Upper Maitland Mustangs by a score of 1-0, while the U18 C Heat lost their OWHA playdown to the Mitchell Meteors in Seaforth by a score of 4-2.
Also that night, the U18 BB Heat won their playoff game with the Devilettes in London by a score of 3-1.
On March 8, the U18 C Heat lost their playdown in Mitchell to the Meteors by a score of 2-1, while the U11 B Heat won their playoff game over the St. Marys Rock in Seaforth by a score of 2-0.
The U11 B Heat won their playoff game over the St. Marys Rock in Seaforth on March 7 by a score of 7-0, while that night the U15 C Heat lost their playdown with the St. Marys Rock, also in Seaforth, by a score of 2-0.
On March 6, the U13 B Heat tied their playdown with the St. Marys Rock on the road 1-1, while the U18 C Heat lost their playdown with the South Huron Sabres in Clinton by a score of 2-1.
Looking ahead, the schedule is rather quiet, with few games on the calendar for the Heat.
On March 18, the U9 HL White team will play the Lucan Irish on the road and the U9 B Heat will play the South Huron Sabres, also on the road. The next day, the U9 HL White team will play again on the road, this time against the North Middlesex Junior Stars, and the Senior team will play Milverton on the road.
On March 22, the U18 C Heat will play an exhibition game with the Lucan Irish in Seaforth and on March 24, the U13 B Heat will play an exhibition game with the Lucknow/Wingham 86ers, also in Seaforth.
On March 25, the U9 HL Black team will play the Lucan Irish on the road and the U9 HL White team will play the South Huron Sabres on the road. Also that day, the U15 BB Heat will play the Twin Centre Hericanes in an exhibition game in Seaforth.
The next night, the Senior team will again play Milverton in Hensall.
