Village Eatery to open in Blyth on May 2
BY DENNY SCOTT
After not having a commercial presence at the site for a number of years, the former Blyth Corner Café will soon be home to the Village Eatery, which will focus on breakfast and lunch.
The restaurant, located at the intersection of King and Queen Streets in Blyth, is being opened by Perry Alpitsis, whose son bought the building after the café closed down.
Alpitsis explained that the restaurant would be very similar to Flippin’ Eggs just north of Goderich, which he opened before handing it off to his son. The award-winning restaurant has become a staple for aviation enthusiasts after receiving accolades by aviation groups.
Alpitsis said the vacant storefront provided an opportunity to open the restaurant, hoping to provide the same kind of breakfasts that have made Flippin’ Eggs popular.
He said that people are interested in what the restaurant will have to offer, and that, before the expected May 2 opening, he hopes to find more staff.
