Arnold Bruce
Arnold Bruce passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels, on Aug. 14, 2026, in his 96th year, marking the close of a long, full, well-lived life.
He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Ora Bruce (Grealis, Riley), who predeceased him in 2011 and with whom he shared 33 wonderful years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his parents, Athol and Grace Bruce, as well as his brothers Doug and Elmer Bruce, sisters Lillian (Lorne) Campbell, Norma (Des) Gurnett and Reta Ross (Rae Breckenridge), Myrna and Muriel Bruce (in infancy).
Arnold leaves behind a large and loving blended family. He was a devoted step-father to Wayne and Debbie Riley (predeceased), Tom and Lillian Riley, Linda and Ken Scott (predeceased), Raymond and Ann Riley, Jannette and Ken Stoll and Edward and Cherida Riley.
He held a deep affection for all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who all brought immense joy to his life. A man of many talents, Arnold was a dedicated farmer, a skilled carpenter and a passionate musician. His love for music began at a very young age and remained a cornerstone throughout his life. Through his musical talents and everyday warmth, he cultivated many lifelong friendships with neighbours, fellow musicians, who stood by him through the years.
Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Monday, Aug. 17 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment took place at Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. A reception followed at the Belgrave Community Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Belgrave Community Centre would be appreciated.
