BBMHA Day set for Nov. 1

This weekend, the Blyth Brussels Minor Hockey Association will be celebrating BBMHA Day at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre with a day of Crusaders’ games and an alumni game, topped off with a game between the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Wingham Ironmen and Mitchell Hawks.
That day begins at 10 a.m. with a game between the U9 LL Crusaders and the Mid-Huron Huskies, followed by the U8 Burgundy and U9 MD teams sharing the ice to play the Wallace Sabres and Drayton Defenders, respectively, the U13 Crusaders taking on the Wingham Ironmen Blue and the U15 team hosting the Mount Forest Rams.
Later in the day, the U6 team will play the Huron-Bruce Blizzard and the U21 team will also play the Blizzard, before the Ironmen and the Hawks take to the ice.
Also on Saturday, Nov. 1, a handful of teams are on the road to play. The U8 White and U7 Burgundy and White teams will all be in Clinton to take on their Mid-Huron Huskies counterparts and the U11 Burgundy team will play the Mitchell Meteors Black team.
The next day, the U9 LL team will play the Mitchell Meteors Black in Mitchell, the U11 Burgundy team will play the Thunder in Zurich, the U13 Crusaders will play the Ironmen Yellow team in Wingham and the U18 team will play the Mitchell Meteors Black team on the road. The lone home game that day sees the U11 Black team hosting the Mid-Huron Huskies in Blyth.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the U18 team will host a late-night contest with the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels, while, the next night, the U9 MD team will play the Mid-Huron Huskies in Bayfield. Then, on Friday, Nov. 7, the U21 team will host the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels.
Looking back at the week that was, the U11 Black team lost to the Goderich Sailors White team on the road on Sunday, Oct. 26 by a score of 3-2. That same night, the U21 team was in Walkerton to play the Capitals, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
On Saturday, Oct. 25, the U21 team lost to the Arthur Vipers in Blyth by a score of 4-1 while the U11 Burgundy team won its local contest with the U11 Black team by a score of 4-2. Also that day, the U8 Burgundy and White teams hosted a pair of Huron-Bruce Blizzard teams in Blyth and the U7 Burgundy and White teams were in Seaforth to play two Mid-Huron Huskies teams, but scores were not kept for those games.
One day earlier, on Friday, Oct. 24, the U11 Burgundy Crusaders lost to the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels by a score of 2-1 while, that same night, the U18 team beat the Arthur Vipers by a score of 2-1, also in Brussels.
Back on Wednesday, Oct. 22, the U13 team lost to the Mid-Huron Huskies by a score of 6-3 in Hensall and the U15 Crusaders beat the Central Perth Predators in Blyth by a score of 5-4. And on Monday, Oct. 20, the U11 Burgundy team lost by a score of 3-2 to the Mid-Huron Huskies in Seaforth, the U13 team beat the Zurich Thunder in Blyth by a score of 5-4, the U11 Black team tied the Mid-Huron Huskies at five in Seaforth and the U18 Crusaders lost to the Listowel Cyclones in Blyth by a score of 3-1.
This week, the U18 team played the Central Perth Predators on the road on Monday, Oct. 27 and, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, the U15 Crusaders hosted the Listowel Cyclones in Blyth and the U13 team was in Mitchell to play the Meteors Yellow team, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
