Belmore holds homecoming June 23-25

            

   Belmore, the “Hamlet with Heart”, famous for the Belmore Maple Syrup Festival will be holding a homecoming, June 23-25.

   Located at the intersection of Huron-Bruce Road and County Road 12, four townships and two counties meet at Belmore.

   Homecoming weekend starts Friday with a golf tournament in Wingham beginning at 10 a.m. From

2–4 p.m. there’s a euchre tournament at the library. Opening ceremonies are at 7:30 at the arena and a dance to “Midnite Ryder” goes from 8:45 p.m. – 1:00 am at the main ball diamond.

   Saturday kicks off with the parade at 11 a.m. After the parade the famous Team Farmall Square Dancing Tractors will perform at the back ball diamond. From 1-4 p.m. there will be children’s activities beside the playgound area. From 4:30-7 p.m. the beef barbecue will be held on the arena floor followed by the Saturday night dance to “Little Rock” from 8:45 p.m.–1 a.m. at the main ball diamond.

   Sunday morning the firefighters of the Howick Fire Department will serve breakfast at the arena auditorium from 8 a.m.–noon. From 9 a.m.–4 p.m. there’s a car show at the back ball diamond. At 10 a.m. there’s a church service at the arena. There are children’s activities including a clown at the back ball diamond pavilion from 2-4 p.m. From 4:30–7 p.m. a pork barbecue using local pork will be held on the arena floor.
