Betty Thompson

At Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2025, Betty Thompson passed away on her terms at the age of 84. 

 

The beloved wife of the late Murray Kuehl (1969), Betty was the loving mom of Kerry and Lynn Kuehl and Sean Kuehl and the cherished mom-mom of Kate Kuehl. 

 

Betty was the dear sister of Ken Thompson, Ruth Thompson and Phyllis McLennan and the sister-in-law of Barb Thompson. She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins and missed by her great-grand-dog Earl.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Jean (Garniss) Thompson, siblings Helen Wilson and Keith Thompson, in-laws Joy Thompson and Keith McLennan and daughter-in-law Judy Wilson.

 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Henderson and Deb Greenaway, the team at the Versteepen Family Cancer Centre at London Health Sciences Centre and Dr. Antoniadis and the second-floor staff at Wingham and District Hospital for their care, compassion and guidance. 

 

A come-and-go celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the Wingham Legion on Saturday, May 17 from 1-4 p.m. with memories being shared at 2 p.m. 

 

Donations to Breast Cancer Canada or the Wingham Royal Canadian Legion Branch 180 would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
