Blyth celebrates 140th birthday July 28-30
The Village of Blyth
will be celebrating its 140th anniversary this summer with a weekend full of
events set for July 28-30.
Events will kick off
on Friday, July 28 with the village’s annual Cenotaph Day. It will begin with a
parade from the Blyth Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and end at the
newly-renovated Memorial Hall, where the ceremony will take place.
Later that evening,
the Huron County Health Unit will host a family-friendly smoke-free movie night
at the Blyth and District Community Centre.
On Saturday, the village will host its annual Streetfest celebration along with the Blyth Lions Club’s celebration of 100 years of Lionism. Later that night, a dance will be held in the upstairs of the community centre featuring local band The Containment Unit.
On Sunday, the Blyth
Ministerial will host a church service and potentially a picnic lunch after the
service.
