Bonnie F. Bearss (Naismith)
Bonnie F. Bearss (Naismith) passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2026, at the age of 84 in Victoria, British Columbia.
She was born in Calgary, Alberta to Andrew and Cecile (Leonard) Naismith.
Bonnie’s warm personality, amiable nature and quick wit won her several life-long friends. We’ll never forget her infectious laugh!
Coming from a strong Scottish background led her into her family’s genealogy.
Being a Base Brat, she lived in several areas, including Alberta, Germany and Ontario. But her travelling didn’t stop there! After she was married and had started her family, they packed up and relocated to Arizona, then back to Alberta, followed by Missouri and then back to Ontario!
She was a phenomenal knitter and many of her projects are cherished keepsakes. She made wonderful knitted puppets and crafts... she even made them personalized! She was a talented seamstress and created many of her children’s clothing and also sewed leather apparel for several years at Bainton’s Old Mill. She was a woman of many talents! She was truly loved and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by five beloved children: Steven (Frances), Mark (Keatha), Lance (Melanie), Deanna (David), and Tamara (Chad); She was also “Gramma” to 15 grandchildren and Great-Gramma to 28. She was a sister to Ann, Walter, Debbie, and Rob.
She was predeceased by two beloved sons: Tim and Billy, as well as her older sister Sharron, her former spouse Bill and her beloved companion Bob Scott.
Cremation has taken place under the care of C.A.R.E Funeral Services
A celebration of life is to be held in the spring, followed by a private family burial.
