Clinton Radars beat Wingham Ironmen for the second time in as many Saturdays

After a tough 4-3 overtime loss to the Mitchell Hawks at home on Friday night, the Clinton Radars beat the Ironmen in Wingham on Saturday by a score of 3-2 - defeating the Ironmen on their home ice for the second time in as many weeks.
First, on Friday night, the Hawks opened scoring with an Owen Gaylor goal just over five minutes into the first period, assisted by Ryan Gansevles and Evan Ballantyne. The Radars, however, scored the next two goals to head to the second period up by a score of 2-1. First, Sawyer Olmstead found the back of the net just over 11 minutes into the first, assisted by Teegan and Keaton Middleton, and then Denver Mason scored with 7:15 left in the first, also assisted by the Middletons.
Then, in the second period, the Hawks reclaimed the lead with two shorthanded goals. First, Cody Bach scored with 5:28 left in the period, assisted by Owen Holloway and Owen Bridges, and then Iain MacIsaac scored unassisted with just under a minute left in the period.
Jack O’Donnell scored an unassisted, also shorthanded goal for the Radars just over four minutes into the third period to tie the game and send it into overtime. There, with 5:19 left in the extra frame, Talbot Geiger scored the game-winner, assisted by Iain MacIsaac and Blair Stokes.
Luke Binning won the game for the Hawks in net, stopping 16 of the 19 shots he faced, while Greyson Roth was handed the overtime loss for the Radars, stopping 30 of 34 shots.
The next night, the Radars beat the Ironmen in Wingham, steadily scoring a goal per period.
Jacob Corriveau scored for the Radars with just under three minutes left in the first, assisted by Evan Denunzio and Myles Phillips, followed by a Phillips goal just over 12 minutes into the second period, assisted by Sawyer Olmstead and Jack O’Donnell.
However, late into the third period, the Ironmen roared back to tie the game with two power play goals. Timothy Kraayenbrink scored first, assisted by Micah Kraayenbrink and Reid Ward, just over 11 minutes into the period, followed by a Ward goal, assisted by Kaleb Schouten, with 6:39 left in the third.
Then, just under a minute later, Jacob Corriveau scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Brody Lyndon and Evan Denunzio, to put the Radars ahead for good.
Jack Dalrymple stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced in a winning effort for the Radars, while Colin Gibbings stopped 24 of 27 shots in a losing effort in the Ironmen net.
Looking ahead, the Radars will host the Kincardine Bulldogs tonight - Friday, Oct. 9 - in Clinton. The next day, the team will be in Mitchell to play the Hawks again. The next weekend, the Hanover Barons will be in Clinton to play the Radars on Friday, Oct. 16 and then the team will be on the road to play the Mount Forest Patriots on Saturday, Oct. 17.
