While the season is still quite young, the Belmore Stingers appear to be picking up where they left off after a nearly-undefeated season in 2024, with a perfect 2-0 record and four points just two games into the 2025 season.
The Stingers registered their first win of the season on Tuesday, May 27 in Walton with a 15-0 drubbing of the Brewers. The team was back in action on Thursday, May 29 - after a May 28 contest between the Milverton Millwrights and the Mets in Mitchell had to be cancelled - beating the Sting in Sebringville by a score of 8-1 for the team’s second win of the season.
Then, on Saturday, May 31, as part of the annual Brussels Ball Day, the Brussels Bangers hosted the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers and sent them away on the wrong end of a 12-4 score, thrilling the hometown Brussels fans as the perfect ending to a great day of baseball.
On June 1, the Monkton Muskrats were scheduled to play the A’s in Fullarton, followed by June 3 games between the Goderich Grizzlies and Walton Brewers and the Mitchell Mets and Sebringville Sting (originally scheduled for May 30), June 4 games between the Elmira Expos and Mitchell Mets and the Monkton Muskrats and Brussels Tigers (originally scheduled for May 28) and June 5 games between the Elmira Expos and Belmore Stingers and Brussels Tigers and Milverton Millwrights, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Tonight, Friday, June 6, the Brussels Bangers will host the Fullarton A’s and the Monkton Muskrats will welcome the Walton Brewers to town. Then, on Sunday, June 8, the Belmore Stingers will host a matinee with the Fullarton A’s to round out the weekend.
On Tuesday, June 10, the Walton Brewers will host the Elmira Expos and the Sebringville Sting will host the Goderich Grizzlies, followed by June 11 games between the Tigers in Brussels and the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers and the Belmore Stingers and Mitchell Mets in Mitchell.

As for the standings, there isn’t much to report aside from the Stingers standing alone in first place with their perfect 2-0 record and four points.
The Brussels Bangers are in second with a record of 1-1 and two points, followed by the Fullarton A’s in third with a record of 1-0 and two points, and the fourth-place Walton Brewers with a record of 1-1 and two points, followed by three teams - the Monkton Muskrats, Sebringville Sting and Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers - with 0-1 records just one game into the season.
