Douglas James Warwick

The result of a fast-acting cancer, Douglas James Warwick passed peacefully, surrounded by family and cherished friends, at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026. He was 80 years old.

 

Doug was the beloved husband of Barbara (née Carter) of Powassan and the much-loved father of Jason (Canda) of Stittsville and Karyn (Kevin Barclay) of Val Therese. He will be lovingly remembered by two grandchildren, Chloe and Jordan.

 

Doug was the dear brother of Ruth Armstrong (Fred) of Auburn, Linda Stewart (Don) of Blyth, Paul Warwick (Virginia) of Exeter, and Kevin Warwick (Susan Hubbard) of Blyth. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Edith Yuill and James Kenneth Warwick.

 

Doug proudly served 29 years with the Ontario Provincial Police, retiring as Senior Constable. A highlight of his career was receiving the Police Exemplary Service Medal in 1992.

 

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Doug’s life will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 12:45-4 p.m. at the Auburn Community Centre.

 

Private interment of Doug’s ashes will take place at Blyth Union Cemetery.
