Dwayne Kenneth Waechter
Dwayne Kenneth Waechter of Brussels passed away courageously, surrounded by the love of his family and friends, at Stratford General Hospital, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the age of 52.
Survived by his best friend and soulmate, Jacquie Waechter (née Seili) and longtime “girlfriend” Danielle Gamache-Free, Dwayne was the proud father of Tim Waechter and Derrick Waechter (Morgan). He was also the adored Papa of precious granddaughter Blakley.
Dwayne will be profoundly missed by those who have joined their family along the way: Brooklyn (Jenna), Colton (Megan), Abbie (Logan), Kailey (Kendall), Amber (Curtis) and their families.
Grieving Dwayne’s loss are their furry friends, Chaco, Riot and Duke.
Dwayne will be deeply missed by Jacquie’s parents, Joe and Deb Seili, and her siblings.
He will be fondly remembered by special friends Pam Barker, Pam Campbell, second Mom Betty Ann Hundt and awesome neighbour Rene Richmond. Brother-in-law Jim Robertson, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, neighbours, and staff at Brussels Transport will miss his stories.
Dwayne was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Cathy (née Benninger) Waechter, extended family members and pets, Duke and Taffy.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at London Health Sciences Centre, Dr. Lenahan, his blood and chemo nurses, his amazing CarePartners team, Dr. Nolan and staff at the Seaforth Hospital and third floor staff at the Stratford Hospital.
A casual visitation took place at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Thursday, May 28 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Brussels on Friday, May 29 at 11 a.m. Cremation followed.
Memorial donations to CarePartners - Community Nursing Services (e-transfer to [email protected]), London Health Sciences Centre – Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
We’ve got this, you have annoyed enough people down here, now it’s time to truck cattle with Papa Ellwood in the sky, fish with Papa Waechter - and enjoy peace with all your heavenly loved ones.
They say it takes a village to raise most children - we now need you in heaven to assist with Blakley.
Written stories and cards of sympathy may be mailed to: PO Box 560, Brussels, N0G 1H0
