Edna Louise Reid

Peacefully at Southbridge, Goderich, on Friday, March 20, 2026, Mrs. Edna Reid, formerly of Londesborough, passed away in her 89th year.  

 

The beloved wife of the late Bob Reid, Edna was the loving mother of Robert (Liz), Cheryl (Murray), Steven (Colleen), and Donald (Kim).

 

She was cherished by her grandchildren, Mackenzie (Samantha), Spencer (Lisa), Olivia (Tyler), Dominique (Murat), Jessica (Curt), Meghan (Owen), Kaden, Sienna, Kody (Shalena), Sheldon (Erin), and Justine (Travis) and she will also be loved and missed by 15 great-grandchildren.  

 

Edna was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Clara (Gough) Lightfoot, parents-in-law Les and Hazel Reid, and siblings and in-laws Caroline and Jim Handy, Viola and Ray Bender, Allan Lightfoot, Hugh Lightfoot, and Bryan and Linda Lightfoot.   

 

Edna loved being outside in nature, whether it was out for a walk, gardening, feeding the birds or tending to all her animals, cats, dogs, and horses. Attending Londesborough Church for many years, Edna was always involved helping in the community any way she could.  

 

Edna also enjoyed driving a school bus for many years.  Edna’s family also enjoyed her home cooked meals and baked goods.  

 

Her greatest joy, of course, was her family, especially when everyone gathered at her home.  

 

The greatest lesson she instilled in her family was to be kind and forgiving even when it is the hardest thing to do. This is how our mother lived - thank you mom for that.  

 

Edna’s family would like to extend many thanks to the staff of Goderich Place, and Southbridge for the care and compassion Edna received these last years.

 

As Edna wished, cremation has taken place, and private family arrangements will follow.

 

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, a Humane Society, or Southbridge Home - Goderich.
