Garry Elliott
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Garry Elliott on Aug. 23 at the Clinton Public Hospital, where his life began as the first preemie to use the incubator.
He is finally reunited with his “Little Peewee” Florence Elliott, who predeceased him in 2022 - they had been married for 51 years.
Garry was the loving father of Tammy and Tim and Jenn and the adoring grandfather of Chloe and Cassie. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Phyllis Edwards and Mary (Rob) Huyzen, as well as sisters-in-law Edna Elliott and Judy Cotton.
He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Norene Elliott, brother Terry Elliott, parents-in-law Willard and Elaine Cotton, brothers-in-laws Howard Edwards and Junior Cotton and sister-in-law Sharon (Jim) Lucken.
Garry spent his whole life in Clinton, becoming a proud and successful business owner of Elliott’s Rad Shop, also known as the “Best Place to Take a Leak” for 40 years.
His greatest joy was his family, especially his granddaughters Button and Pooh Bear. Their special adventures of boating and fishing were memories he cherished. Garry had nicknames for almost everyone he met - that was his special way of showing how much they meant to him. He had many stories of working at the Cloud Nine and Bendick’s, meeting many great friends along the way.
Thank you to Clinton Public Hospital nurses and doctors for the great care they gave him in his last days. We are lucky to have such great people in the community and amazing family and friends.
A private gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations can be made to Huron Hospice Bender House.
