Gerald “Gerry” Stuart Augustine
Gerald “Gerry” Stuart Augustine passed away peacefully at Lakeview Manor, Beaverton on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025 at the age of 93 years.
The husband of the late Velma Maxine (née Parish), Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Gordon R. and Ethel I. (nee Robinson). He will be remembered by his son Brian Augustine (Lisa), grandchildren Kyle, (Allison) and Emily Emerson, (Matthew), and great-grandchildren, Landon, Brooklyn and James.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia.
Gerry was born in Blyth, Ontario. He worked for many years in the transportation industry driving a straight truck for deliveries and later retired from driving a public transit bus. He married Maxine on May 31, 1980 and moved to reside with her in Uxbridge. Gerry and Maxine were faithful members of Trinity United Church, Uxbridge, where they both held positions of leadership and service. Gerry had a good appreciation for music, singing with the church choir and other groups.
Gerry and Maxine travelled as often as they could; sometimes to see their family and sometimes on tours with friends just for sightseeing excursions. He enjoyed sports and could easily be caught watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was known to attend live games if the opportunity presented itself.
Most mornings, Gerry looked forward to meeting the guys early for coffee. At these gatherings it is reported that there were stories shared which apparently were always true! Gerry, old friend, we will miss you.
A graveside ceremony took place at Foster Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, Oct. 1. A time of fellowship and refreshment followed at Low and Low Funeral Home in Uxbridge.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trinity United Church, Uxbridge or Uxbridge Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be arranged by visiting www.lowandlow.ca
