Janice Barbara Aylward

Janice Barbara Aylward of Goderich passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026 at the Huron Residential Hospice, Clinton. She was in her 81st year.

 

Jan will be remembered by her partner, Dorothy “Dot” Halley of Goderich, her son Andrew Pollock (Hugo) of Toronto and daughter Fiona Rodriques (Ian) of Bradford, and by her granddaughter Emma. Jan will also be missed by her nieces Kate (Tom) and their children Molly and Amy, Helen and her son Jack and Jan’s good friends Leslie and Bob Sedore. Jan enjoyed time spent with her four-legged family: “Buddy” the rescue dog and “Rosie” the rescue cat.

 

Jan was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Florence (Wiffen) Aylward, and her sisters Joan Dalton, Peggy Miles and Hazel Aylward.

 

Rev. Jan graduated from Emmanuel College in 1995 and was then ordained in the United Church of Canada. Rev. Jan served in several congregations, notably Peace United Church, Plattsville, Merigomish United Church, Nova Scotia and Londesborough United Church, Londesborough.

 

Relatives and friends are welcome to meet at Chesterfield Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. for a burial service for Rev. Jan. Following the service, everyone is invited to return to Peace United Church, Plattsville for a lunch and time to remember Rev. Jan.
