Jean Tervit

Peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels, Jean Tervit of Wingham passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 86. 

 

The beloved wife of the late Jack Tervit (2009), Jean was the devoted mom of Ken and Cindy Tervit and Kevin Tervit. She was the loving grandma Jean of Melissa Tervit, Jaide and Tyler Campbell and Meagan and Travis Brown and the great-grandma of Brielle, Adalyn and Camilla Campbell and Scottie Jean Brown. 

 

Jean was the sister of Mike and Donelda Cottrill and Joe and Cheryl Cottrill and the sister-in-law of Gary Lippert, Mary Wallace and Barb Tervit. 

 

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. 

 

She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Elsie (McIntosh) Cottrill, brother Bill Cottrill, sister Nancy Lippert, sister-in-law Jean (Jack) Deans and brothers-in-law George Tervit and Don Wallace. 

 

Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday, May 22 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday, May 23 from noon until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Reception will follow at the Wingham Legion.

 

Interment will take place at Wingham Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wingham Legion Ladies Auxiliary or the Wingham and District Hospital Ladies Auxiliary would be appreciated.
