LEONARD “Len” WILLIAM GEORGE GAMBLE
February 8, 1936 - April 16, 2026
Leonard “Len” William George Gamble passed away peacefully at home on Thursday April 16 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 72 years, Kaye Gamble, by just six days.
The devoted father of Kip Gamble (Jamie) and Rebecca Boyington, Len was the loving grandfather of Dustin Gamble (Katy), Jesse Gamble (Emma), Julie Bartlett (Jason), Olivia Boyington (John) and Dana Boyington and the doting great-grandfather of Bronwyn, Emmenuelle and Sterling.
Len will also be deeply missed by brothers-in-law Wayne Small and Blake Taylor and sister-in-law Betty Hillis, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sharon Small and brother Don Gamble. Len and Kaye will be missed by cherished friends Bruce and Anna.
Len was a very supportive father and grandfather who could always be counted on in good times and bad. He enjoyed family gatherings and was always happy with his people around him and would regale them with colourful stories of past adventures. He was also known as a youngster to engage in many mischievous pranks, such as locking his teacher in the outhouse.
Len also had other loves, which were the cattle business and the horse racing industry. The thing that Len loved the most about these two things were the people he met and the friendships he made.
Visitation was held at the Dods and McNair Funeral Home, Chapel and Reception Centre, Orangeville, on Wednesday, April 22 and a celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 23.
A tree will be planted in Len and Kaye’s memory at the Dods and McNair memorial forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society.
Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
