Local girls' hockey season continues for Huron Heat

The local girls’ hockey season continued last weekend with a mix of exhibition and regular season games after the excitement of the Oakville Hornets’ Harvest Classic tournament for a number of Huron Heat teams the previous weekend.
On Sunday, the U15 BB Prescott Heat beat the Wallaceburg Lakers in Clinton by a score of 6-2, while the U11 A Nichol Heat team beat the Lambton Attack by a score of 1-0, also in Clinton.
On the road, the U13 C Walt Heat team beat the Woodstock Wildcats by a score of 4-1 and the U15 BB Prescott Heat team lost to the Lucan Irish on the road by a score of 3-2.
The previous day, the U9 B Devereaux-Gaynor Heat welcomed the Woodstock Wildcats to Seaforth, but a score was not kept for that game. Also that day, the U15 C Keller Heat tied the Irish in Lucan 2-2, while the U18 BB Wilson Heat team lost to the Lakeshore Lightning by a score of 2-1 in Clinton.
Back on Wednesday, Oct. 1, the U13 A Mahon Heat lost to the Bluewater Hawks by a score of 2-1 on the road.
Looking ahead, the U18 C Heat Jinks team will play the St. Marys Rock on Friday, Oct. 10 in Hensall. That same night, the U13 HL
O’Donnell team will play the Sarnia Lady Sting on the road.
On Saturday, Oct. 11, the U13 C Walt Heat team will welcome the Woodstock Wildcats to Seaforth and the U13 HL O’Donnell team will play the Central Perth Predators, also in Seaforth, and the U18 BB Wilson Heat will play the Woodstock Wildcats in Clinton.
On the road that day, the U15 BB Prescott Heat will play the Southport Stars, the U15 A Jarmuth Heat will play the Chatham Crush, the U15 BB Prescott Heat will play the Wallaceburg Lakers and the U18 C Jinks Heat will play the Woodstock Wildcats.
The next day, Sunday, Oct. 12, the U12 A Mahon Heat will be in Stratford to play the Aces and the U15 C Keller team will also be on the road to play the Central Perth Predators.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, the U18 B Wood Heat team will be in Ilderton to play the Jets, then, on Friday, Oct. 17, the Bring the Heat Tournament returns to Clinton, hosted by the U11 teams.
Beginning on Friday, Oct. 17, the U11 A Nichol, U11 B Carroll and U11 C Van Amersfoort Heat teams will be welcoming area teams to Clinton for the tournament (some games will be played in Goderich). That day, the U11 B Carroll Heat will play the Stratford Aces and the Mount Forest Rams, while the U11 A Nichol Heat will play the Barrie Sharks and the Woodstock Wildcats.
The next day, the U11 A Nichol team is scheduled to play the Saugeen Shores Storm and the U11 B Carroll team will play the Lambeth Lancers.
In regular season action on Friday, Oct. 17, the U18 C Jinks Heat will welcome the Lucan Irish to Hensall, the U15 C Keller Heat will host the Mount Forest Rams in Goderich and the U15 B Calder Heat will play the St. Thomas Panthers in Seaforth.
The next day, the U13 B McCann Heat will play the Twin Centre Hericanes on the road, the U13 C Walt Heat will play the Lancers in Lambeth and the U18 B Wood Heat will play the Twin Centre Hericanes in Wellesley. The U18 BB Wilson Heat will host the Belmont Blazers in Clinton that night as well.
On Sunday, Oct. 19, the U15 A Jarmuth Heat will play the Chatham Crush in Clinton and the U13 C Walt Heat will welcome the Ilderton Jets to Brussels.
Also that day, the U13 HL O’Donnell Heat will play the Irish in Lucan, the U15 C Keller Heat will play the St. Marys Rock on the road and the U15 BB Prescott Heat will play the Lucan Irish, also on the road. The U18 BB Wood Heat will host the Lucan Irish that night in Seaforth.
