North Huron Publishing in need of Citizen of the Year Award nominations

North Huron Publishing is again asking members of the public to come forward and nominate an outstanding volunteer for this year’s Citizen of the Year Awards - the 41st installment since The Citizen was founded.

 

With the deadline just days away - Sept. 30 - The Citizen staff needs to hear from you about the people who make your life easier, your communities a better place to live and go above and beyond for people other than themselves.

 

Huron County has long been known for its volunteerism and service groups like the local Legions, Optimist and Lions Clubs, churches, agricultural and horticultural societies are always places the community can turn when it needs help. We need to know who keeps those clubs running and who the community couldn’t live without.

 

Submissions can be dropped off physically to our office in Blyth (an entry form is included in this week’s issue) or they can be e-mailed to Editor Shawn Loughlin at [email protected]

 

There are three categories for winners this year: Blyth and area, Brussels and area and Huron County, which is for outstanding volunteers in the county beyond the Blyth and Brussels communities that The Citizen has long considered its home base.

 

Last year’s winners were Cheryl Cronin in Blyth, Linda Garland in Brussels and Brenda Campbell of Seaforth in Huron County. Three very worthy winners who have now been celebrated by their communities for all that they do. Now, we want to hear who is next.
