Reta (Bruce) Ross

At Wingham and District Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, Reta (Bruce) Ross of Bluevale passed away peacefully at the age of 87.

 

The devoted mom of Eric and Deborah Ross of Brussels and Cameron Ross and Darcey Cooke of Listowel, Reta was the adored grandma of Amy, Candice (Chris), Christopher, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Jamie (Amanda), Tyler, Melissa and Thomas and great-grandma of Hudson, Evelynn, Emmalee, Tanner, Sloane, Josie, Kinsley, Kash, Baylor and Cayson.

 

She was the sister of Arnold Bruce of Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels and the sister-in-law of Brenda Perrie of Brussels and Fran Breckenridge of Wingham.

 

Reta was predeceased by her parents, Athol and Grace (Scott) Bruce, partner Rae Breckenridge, brothers Doug and Elmer Bruce, sisters Lillian (Lorne) Campbell and Norma (Des) Gurnett, infant sisters Myrna and Muriel Bruce, sister-in-law Ora Bruce, Roma (Gordon) Nicholson and Wilda (Les) Tretheway and brothers-in-law Dale, Barry and Alan Breckenridge.

 

Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday, Feb. 26 from noon until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Reception at the Wingham Legion followed the service.

 

Interment will take place at Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave in the spring.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Bluevale Community Committee or Wingham and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
