Sebringville Sting maintain lead in Huron County Fastball League standings

On Tuesday night, in Huron County Fastball League action, the Brussels Tigers were in Walton and beat the Brewers by a score of 4-0. Also that night, in a return to play after the Civic Holiday weekend, the Goderich Grizzlies fell to the Bangers in Brussels by a score of 11-4 and the Sebringville Sting hosted the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers and beat them by a score of 7-0.
Before the break, on July 29, the Milverton Millwrights beat the Rippers in Wingham by a score of 6-5, while the Fullarton A’s lost to the Mets in Mitchell by a score of 13-0 and the Brussels Tigers beat the Goderich Grizzlies by a score of 4-0 in Brussels.
On July 28, the Walton Brewers hosted the Sebringville Sting and beat them by a score of 4-3.
On Aug. 5, the Brussels Tigers hosted the Monkton Muskrats and the Belmore Stingers were in Mitchell to play the Mets followed by, the next night, games between the Fullarton A’s and the Milverton Millwrights in Milverton and the Belmore Stingers hosting the Walton Brewers in a game originally scheduled for June 16, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, tonight, Friday, Aug. 7, the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers will be in Brussels to play the Bangers and the Monkton Muskrats will host the Goderich Grizzlies. On Sunday, the Rippers will host the Brussels Bangers in Wroxeter in a game originally scheduled for June 21 and the Milverton Millwrights will be in Fullarton to play the A’s.
On Aug. 11, the Brussels Bangers will be in Belmore to play the Stingers, followed by an Aug. 13 game in Milverton between the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers and the Milverton Millwrights. On Aug. 14, the Brussels Bangers will host the Belmore Stingers and the Brussels Tigers will be in Monkton to play the Muskrats.
As for the standings, the Sebringville Sting are still in first place with a record of 8-3-1 and 17 points, followed by three teams tied at 14 points each: the Belmore Stingers (7-2), the Mitchell Mets (7-4) and the Brussels Bangers (7-7).
In fifth place are the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers with a record of 6-6 and 12 points, followed by the Fullarton A’s in sixth place with a record of 5-5-1 and 11 points.
Three teams are then tied at 10 points each: the Walton Brewers (5-7), the Milverton Millwrights (5-6) and the Brussels Tigers (5-6), followed by the 10th-place Goderich Grizzlies with eight points and a record of 4-8 and the last-place Monkton Muskrats with a record of 3-6 and six points.
