Two Huron Heat teams win silver in Waterloo, seven in tournaments this weekend

Three Huron Heat teams made their way to the Waterloo Fall Challenge Cup on the weekend, hosted by the Waterloo Ravens, with two teams making it to the finals, but failing to return with gold medals around their necks.
The U18 B Heat met the host Waterloo Ravens in the final on Sunday, but fell by a score of 1-0, while the U15 A Heat met the Woodstock Wildcats in the finals, but lost by a score of 4-3. To get there, the U15 A Heat beat the hosts in the semifinals by a score of 2-1, while the U18 B Heat downed the Woolwich Wild by a score of 2-1 in the semifinals.
To open the tournament on Friday, the U13 A Heat beat the Ayr Rockets by a score of 2-0, followed by a 5-0 shutout over the Central York Panthers. The U18 B Heat opened their tournament with a 1-1 tie with the Markham-Stouffville Stars, followed by a 2-1 loss to the Woolwich Wild, while the U15 A Heat beat the Grand River Mustangs by a score of 1-0 and then a 5-1 win over the Mooretown Lady Flags.
The next day, Saturday, Nov. 8, the U15 A Heat opened their day with a 4-1 loss to the Woodstock Wildcats and then a 1-0 win over the Napanee Crunch in the quarterfinals.
The U13 A Heat tied the London Devilettes at one in their first game of the day, followed by a 2-1 loss to the Lambeth Lancers in the quarterfinals.
The U18 B Heat beat the Stratford Aces twice on Saturday - first, the Heat ended its round-robin action with a 4-1 win over the Aces, followed by a 3-2 win over them again in the quarterfinals.
Then, on Sunday, the U15 A Heat beat the Waterloo Ravens in the semifinals by a score of 2-1, followed by a 4-3 loss in the finals to the Woodstock Wildcats. The U18 B Heat beat the Woolwich Wild in the semifinals by a score of 2-1, followed by a 1-0 finals loss to the Waterloo Ravens.
In regular season action over the weekend, on Sunday, the U15 BB team tied the Lakeshore Lightning at two in Clinton, the U13 B Heat tied the Devilettes at one in London and the U11 C Heat trounced the Central Perth Predators by a score of 8-0 in Brussels.
The U15 BB Heat beat the Lakeshore Lightning by a score of 4-1 in Brussels, the U11 B Heat lost to the Saugeen Shores Storm on the road by a score of 4-2, the U18 BB Heat tied the Bluewater Hawks at three on the road and the game between the U15 C Heat and the Central Perth Predators in Clinton ended in a scoreless draw.
Also that day, the Senior C team hosted the Upper Maitland Mustangs, the U15 B Heat played the St. Thomas Panthers on the road and the U11 HL Heat played the Lady Sting in Sarnia, but scores for those games were not available at press time.
On Saturday in Seaforth, the U7 team played an exhibition game with the Twin Centre Hericanes, the U9 C Heat played the Sarnia Lady Sting and the U9 HL team played an exhibition game with the Sarnia Lady Sting, but scores were not kept for those games.
Also that day, the U11 C Heat tied the Walkerton Capitals at two in Seaforth, the U13 HL team tied the St. Thomas Panthers at one on the road, the U11 HL Heat beat the Lambton Attack by a score of 5-0 in Watford and the U18 BB Heat beat the Lakeshore Lightning by a score of 5-0 in Clinton.
On Friday, Nov. 7, the U15 BB team lost to the London Devilettes in Seaforth by a score of 5-1 and the U15 B team tied the Bluewater Hawks at one, also in Seaforth. One day earlier, the U13 B Heat beat the Woodstock Wildcats in Seaforth by a score of 3-1.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, the U15 A Heat beat the Bluewater Hawks on the road by a score of 1-0 and, on Monday, Nov. 3, the U11 B Heat beat the Twin Centre Hericanes on the road by a score of 4-2 and the U13 HL Heat lost to the South Huron Sabres, also on the road, by a score of 3-0.
On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the U13 A Heat played the Stratford Aces in Seaforth, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, it’s a big tournament weekend for the Heat. Four teams - the U13 B, U13 C, U15 B and U18 C Heat - will all be heading east for the Stratford Festival Cup. The U18 BB Heat will be in Barrie for Sharkfest, the U11 HL Heat will be in the North Halton Tournament and the U13 HL Heat will be part of the Owen Sound North Lights Lady Classic.
In regular season action on Friday, Nov. 15, the U18 B team will host the B.A.D. Blazers in Hensall and the Senior C team will play Belmore on the road.
The next day, the U11 C Heat will play the Wingham/Lucknow 86ers in Goderich, the U11 A team will host the Lambton Attack in Seaforth, the U11 B Heat will play the Ice Hawks in Owen Sound, the U9 B team will host the Waterloo Ravens in Seaforth, the U9 C and U9 HL Heat will play a pair of Lambeth Lancers teams on the road and the U18 B Heat will play the Grand River Mustangs in Fergus.
On Sunday, Nov. 16, the U13 A Heat will host the Southpoint Stars in Clinton, the U15 A Heat will play the Mooretown Lady Flags, also in Clinton, the U11 C Heat will play the Saugeen Shores Storm on the road, the U11 B Heat will play the Kincardine Kinucks in Brussels and the U11 A Heat will play the Bluewater Hawks in Clinton. The U9 B Heat will play the Junior Gryphons in Guelph, the U13 A Heat will play the Southpoint Stars in Brussels and the U18 B team will host the Grand River Mustangs in Seaforth.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, the U11 C team will play the South Huron Sabres and the U11 B Heat will play the St. Marys Rock, both in Seaforth, while the U13 A Heat will play the Lambeth Lancers on the road.
