U11 Black Blyth Brussels Crusaders lose playoff series to end their run

The playoffs have drawn to a close for the last Blyth Brussels Crusaders hope with the U11 Black team falling in two games to the Drayton Defenders over the weekend.
The two teams played one another on Friday, March 6 on the road and again the next day in Blyth with the locals falling 7-3 and 8-0, respectively.
There is very little action left on the schedule for Crusaders teams as action winds down, but the U11 Black team will head to Listowel for the annual Gord Hymers Tournament this weekend.
On Friday, the Crusaders will play the Central Perth Predators and the Wallace Sabres, followed by a game with the Midland Centennials on Saturday.
In regular season action on Saturday, the U7 White team will play the Hornets in Howick, the U6 team will host the Howick Hornets in Blyth and the U8 White and Burgundy teams will play a pair of Central Perth Predators teams in Blyth.
The U7 Burgundy team will play the Wingham Ironmen in Blyth that day, while the U9 LL team will play the Goderich Sailors in Brussels, the U9 MD team will play the Zurich Thunder, also in Brussels and the U13 and U15 teams will play exhibition games with the Zurich Thunder and Wingham Ironmen, respectively, both in Brussels.
On Sunday, the U9 LL Crusaders will play the Mid-Huron Huskies in Hensall.
The following weekend, the U11 Black team will head to Owen Sound for the annual Barb Downey Memorial Tournament and the U9 MD team will play in the Mid-Huron Huskies Tournament in Seaforth.
The organization’s year-end awards banquet is set for Wednesday, April 8 at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre.
