U14 A Southwest Admirals make Silver Stick semi-finals

Last weekend was an exciting one for the members of the U14 A Southwest Admirals (and their parents) at the International Silver Stick Tournament Finals in Newmarket, though the team would make it no further than the semi-finals.
Play began on Thursday, Jan. 15 for the Admirals, who took on the Woodstock Junior Navy Vets and beat them by a score of 5-2. The next day, the locals beat the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds by a score of 6-2 before shutting out the Grand Rapids Blades by a score of 5-0.
The team then squeaked out a win over the Tri-Centre Junior Attack on Saturday by a score of 2-1, sending the Huron County-based team to the semi-finals. There, they faced the Belle River Junior Canadiens, the eventual tournament winners, and fell by a score of 3-2, ending their tournament.
In other tournament action last weekend, the U18 B Admirals were in Wellesley for the annual Frozen Classic Cup Tournament, but had a tougher time than their U14 A counterparts finding success. The team went winless and made the early trip home.
Play for the locals began on Friday with a 6-2 loss at the hands of the Talbot Trail Blazers. The next day, the team lost by a score of 4-2 to the Tavistock Junior Braves and then by a score of 8-1 to the Twin Centre Junior Jacks, ending their tournament.
In regular season action over the weekend, beginning on Sunday, the U11 B Admirals beat the Bruce Grey Bulls in Tara by a score of 6-3, the U11 A team tied the Midwest 49ers at three in Blyth, the U15 A Admirals beat the Bruce Grey Bulls in Clinton by a score of 8-4, the U12 A team beat the Bruce Grey Bulls in Chesley by a score of 5-3, the U16 A Admirals beat the Southeast Surge in Clinton 3-1 and the U18 A team beat the Southeast Surge on the road by a score of 8-2.
Also that day, the U13 A team beat the Tri-Centre Junior Attack on the road by a score of 2-1 and the U13 B Admirals lost to the Midwest 49ers in Blyth by a score of 3-1.
On Saturday, the U15 A team shutout the Tri-Centre Junior Attack by a score of 7-0 on the road, the U10 A Admirals beat the Tri-Centre Junior Attack on the road by a score of 6-4 and the U11 A team lost to the Tri-Centre Junior Attack, also on the road, by a score of 6-2.
The U11 B Admirals shutout the Southeast Surge by a score of 2-0 in Zurich, while the U13 A team lost in Tiverton to the West Coast White Caps by a score of 3-2.
The U18 A Admirals beat the Midwest 49ers in Clinton on Friday by a score of 6-3. That same day, the U16 A team beat the Tri-Centre Junior Attack by a score of 2-0, also in Zurich, while the game between the U15 B team and the Tri-Centre Junior Attack on the road ended tied at four.
During the week, on Thursday, Jan. 15, the U12 A team was on the road and shut out the Bruce Grey Bulls by a score of 7-0 and the U11 B Admirals beat the West Coast White Caps in Tiverton by a score of 5-2. One day earlier, the U15 B team tied the West Coast White Caps at two in Blyth and then, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, the U18 B Admirals tied the Southeast Surge at two in Goderich.
Looking ahead, tonight, Friday, Jan. 23, the U12 A Admirals will host the Bruce Grey Bulls and the U18 A team will play the West Coast White Caps, both in Clinton, while the U16 A team will play the Bruce Grey Bulls in Zurich and the U13 B Admirals will be in Mildmay to play the Midwest 49ers.
On Saturday, the U16 A and U11 A Admirals teams will both be in Hanover to play their Midwest 49ers counterparts, while the U18 A and U18 B teams will both be on the road to play Tri-Centre Junior Attack teams. Also that day, the U13 A team will host the West Coast White Caps and the U15 B Admirals will play the Bruce Grey Bulls, both in Brussels.
The U10 A team will play the West Coast White Caps in Zurich, the U13 B team will take on the West Coast White Caps in Wingham, the U14 A Admirals will host the West Coast White Caps in Zurich and the U15 A team will play the Southeast Surge in Brussels.
The next day, the U10 A team will play the Midwest 49ers, the U13 A Admirals will play the Bruce Grey Bulls and the U14 A team will play the Midwest 49ers, all in Seaforth, while, over in Blyth, the U11 A team will play the West Coast White Caps and the U13 B team will play the Southeast Surge.
Also that day, the U15 B team will play the Midwest 49ers in Hensall, the U11 B Admirals will be on the road to play the Southeast Surge and the U15 A team will play the West Coast White Caps in Clinton.
Throughout the week, on Monday, Jan. 26, the U10 A Admirals will play the Southeast Surge in Hensall and the U15 A team will play the Southeast Surge on the road in Palmerston. The next day, the U10 A team will play the West Coast White Caps in Brussels and, in Tiverton, the U12 A Admirals will play the West Coast White Caps.
On Wednesday, Jan. 28, the U14 A Admirals will play the Bruce Grey Bulls in Blyth and the U15 A team will play the Midwest 49ers in Hanover.
